I was at a conference once where the head of NASA was speaking and he said

“we don’t just have aerospace engineers working for us, we have all people from every industry…financial people sort the money for the mission, biologists study potential life on other planets, medical people make sure the astronaut survives, astronomers observe the universe, and many many more.”

So yes, looking at space missions, there are so many different fields of knowledge that need to come together for it to work. For space engineering, there are many ties to other fields of engineering. A mechanical engineer could be in charge of the design, an electrical engineer could be wiring the whole system, a communications engineer could be in charge of the antennas, and more. Our lab. has people from many different strands of engineering.

      Thanks

      Very much.
When we are building a satellite, we need engineers from many fields.
e.g. Mechanical, structural, thermal, electronic, software, etc
Cooperation and teamwork are essential and fun too!
